Human RNase mitochondrial RNA processing ribonucleoprotein complex. (PDB id: 6LT7; Yin C, Bai G, Zhang Y, Huang J. 2021. Crystal structure of human RPP20-RPP25 proteins in complex with the P3 domain of lncRNA RMRP. J Struct Biol 213: 107704). Human RNase MRP (mitochondrial RNA processing) is an essential RNA-containing enzyme involved in the processing of ribosomal RNAs, mitochondrial RNAs, and certain messenger RNAs. Shown is a dimeric complex formed by the RNA P3 domain and the RPP20 and RPP25 subunits. Some inherited disease-related mutations map to the protein–RNA interface. RNA backbone is displayed as a red ribbon; block bases use NDB colors: A—red, C—yellow, G—green, U—cyan; ribonuclease P p20 and p25 subunits are displayed as gold ribbons.
