Mutations in the G56 and C42U46 variants are indicated by arrows. The gus and PSTVd parts are indicated. The backbone alone displays a straight rod in m-fold (data not shown; see Bonin et al. 2001). With the insertion of the GluR-B R/G sequence, 9 nt of the backbone 5′ and 15 nt 3′ of the insert are included in the stem-loop structure. The size of the chimeric RNA is 1007 nt.
