Effect of SsrA RNA on the expression of full-length CRP. Total extracts were prepared from PP47 ssrA+ and PP47 ssrA− cells harboring pHA7 derivatives. Lysates equivalent to 0.005 OD600 units (Miller 1972) were analyzed by Western blotting using anti-CRP antibodies. The band of the full-length CRP (23.6 kD) is shown by an asterisk.
