hSHAPE-validated secondary structure model of the first 744 nt of the FIV unspliced gRNA. The in vitro transcribed gRNA was modified with BzCN, and the reactivity of each nucleotide in the RNA secondary structure obtained is color-coded, as indicated in the SHAPE reactivity key. The U5/gag LRI is boxed in gold color, and the base pairing of the complementary strands is highlighted and shown as an inset. The red box marks the U85CUG88 motif.
