NMR spectra of 5′-half fragments. (A) NOESY spectra of tj-17–32 showing the formation of two G–C base pairs and A–U base pairs. For G–C base pair, NOEs between H5 and amino protons, H41 and H42, can be observed. It is noted that NOE signals for C29H5-H41 and C29H5-H41 were overlapped to each other. For A–U base pair, interstrand and intrastrand NOEs for H2 and H1′ can be observed. (B) Imino proton spectra of tj-1–32 and its mutants.
