To begin 2022, the RNA journal is pleased to present the first in a series of special issues. These issues are devoted to research areas of current high interest. Rather than recruiting research papers or a small number of reviews, the Journal solicited perspectives from leaders in the specific area of RNA protein condensates. Edited by Tom Cech, this issue presents the current views of this exciting field by prominent scientists. Future special issues will focus on RNA therapeutics, lncRNAs, and piRNAs. RNA anticipates that it will publish two or three special issues per year. The Journal hopes that these compendia will be of significant value to the RNA community as a whole.
