Editorial clarification of RNA publication policies
No scoop policy
RNA values reproducibility in science. Accordingly, in the event of prior publication of a set of results by another laboratory, RNA will consider similar manuscripts for publication if the authors have independently arrived at their results during approximately the same time period.
RNA policy on papers rejected by other journals
RNA recognizes that many manuscripts are rejected for subjective reasons such as general interest in the findings presented. In such cases RNA will conduct expedited evaluations provided that the authors make all communications with the rejecting journal, including reviews, available. RNA will also consider manuscripts that were rejected on scientific grounds given that reviews are provided with the authors’ replies.
Policy on publication of “negative” results
RNA recognizes that results obtained in one laboratory may contradict previously published results by others. Accordingly, RNA will consider manuscripts that provide strong data that …
