Geometric-average MCC as a function of threshold scores S for Boltzmann learning and pseudolikelihood DCA. MSAs are performed with ClustalW and Infernal, as indicated. The sharp decrease after some method-dependent value of S is due to the fact that when the threshold is too large the number of correctly predicted contacts in at least one of the 17 investigated systems drops to zero.
