Schematics of the key assembly subunit, Nop5/56p/58p, of the box C/D RNPs. Nop5/56p/58p comprises three domains: the NTD, the coiled-coil domain, and the CTD. Two important hinges around which domains may reposition are indicated. The observed placement of domains in currently known box C/D RNP structures is compared. The abbreviated organism names represent: Sulfolobus solfataricus (Ss), Archaeoglobus fulgidus (Af), Methanococcus jannaschii (Mj), Pyrococcus furiosus (Pf), and Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Sc).
