Fractionation of [32P]pA radioactivity from three reactions by ion-exchange TLC. On the left, “0” means a freshly prepared, unincubated reaction, “24” indicates incubation for 24 h before fractionation, and “24 U” shows the result of 24-h incubation at 10°C with 5 mM poly(U). 2MeImpA (Adenosine 5′phospho-2methylimidazolide) is not radiolabeled and so is invisible after phosphorimaging. Names for some reaction molecules are shown opposite their structures.
