DAZAP1 can stimulate translation initiation in a cap-independent manner. Oocytes expressing MS2-U1A and MS2-xDAZAP1 were co-injected with β-galactosidase control mRNA and either m7G-capped luc-MS2, CSFV-luc-MS2 (A), HAV-luc-MS2 (B), or ApG-capped-luc-MS2 (C) mRNA. Data are plotted as in Figure 1A.
