SLBP promotes mRNA export. (A) 293T cells were transfected with 25 ng of reporter plasmid and 500 ng of HA-MS2 fusion protein plasmid. Forty-eight hours post-transfection, cells were harvested in TEN buffer and a CAT assay was performed on the lysates. CAT activity was normalized to untransfected lysates. Values are for three independent experiments with error bars representing 1 standard deviation. (B) The cell lysates from cells transfected with the two reporters were analyzed by Western blotting using antibody against the HA tag, except for SLBP where the anti-SLBP antibody was used.
